Why a picture of the Christ Child
with a Happy New Year message?
For Christmas, many of us sang
the song “Immanuel“
Immanuel means:
“God with us“
In addition to Christmas day,
God is with us every day!
In that at the start of a New Year,
many of us set New Year’s Resolutions,
why not make a resolution
each day (or most days or some days)
to have a simple chat (prayerfully)
saying what’s on your mind
to the God of the Universe.
When you sing that song “Immanuel”
realize it is taken from the writings
of a man named Isaiah who
lived 700 years before Jesus Christ.
Here is what he wrote.
Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign:
Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son,
and shall call His name Immanuel.
(Isaiah 7:14)
For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given; …
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
(Isaiah 9:6)
