Normally, before a woman goes into hard labor in birthing a baby, she has a series of Birth Pangs that gives the mother notice her baby is coming and her life is about to make a significant change.
These two verses from Jesus are often referred to as “birth pangs”.
As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?”
Jesus answered them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will lead many astray. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren’t troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places. But all these things are the beginning of birth pains.”

For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the liberty of the glory of the children of God. These warnings are observable today. You might think a thought like: “these problems have always gone on”; or”now there are just more ways to hear the news.” There is truth in those thoughts. And today we know much more about what is happening in other parts of the world. But there are a lot of events taking place that will make you think there are “way more concerns” about the future than at any time in the past.
- Experts in Artificial Intelligence warn there are huge concerns about the advancement of “AI” in the coming years. And warn we should take a pause in AI development. Think China and North Korea would like us to take a pause?
- Combining AI with Robotics will result in the loss of many jobs.
- Probable use of Robots for warfare. In the air, on land, on the sea.
- Will your preferred way to honor God be tolerated, or will you be asked to conform to a worldwide norm of some kind. Will you be sent to a “camp” or slaughtered for non com
In some bible versions, the idea of “birth pangs or birth pains” is referred to as the “beginnings of sorrows”. Have these “sorrows” already begun? Are they a harbinger (warning) about difficult times to come?

The point: There are a lot of concerns going on now and in the near future:
- Loss of Personal Liberties
- False Messiahs around the world
- Lawlessness (think gangs, looting)
- Persecutions around the world
- Ongoing attacks on Israel
- Infringement on personal privacy (think Implanted Microchips)
- UFO’s and Aliens (some theorize these are demons)
- Decline in Morality as in times of Sodom and Gomorrah
- Sex Trafficking of children and teenagers
- Nuclear weapon proliferation
- Massive amounts of Pollution
- Massive amounts of corruption in world governments
- An Antichrist will convince many that he is the answer to these concerns
Friends, things are not looking good.
It is time to look up.
For our redemption draws near.
A woman, when she gives birth, has sorrow, because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she doesn’t remember the anguish any more, for the joy that a human being is born into the world.
